513 Posted May 12 513 Posted May 12 Hey guys! Would like to start a new discussion about crypto and its future With the rise of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins, more people are using crypto for payments, savings, and even to protect against inflation. On the other hand, traditional money (like the dollar or euro) is still the standard for everyday use: buying groceries, paying rent, and getting paid. Some key differences: Crypto is decentralized, digital, and borderless. Fiat money is government-issued, widely accepted, and relatively stable. Crypto can be fast and private but is often volatile. Fiat is stable but subject to inflation and government control. Discussion Questions: Do you think crypto has the potential to fully replace traditional money? What advantages or disadvantages do you see in using crypto every day? Would you trust your salary or savings entirely in crypto? Curious to hear your thoughts, especially from people who use both! 📊 Link to comment https://forum.1wozdk.life/topic/131-will-cryptocurrency-ever-replace-traditional-money/ Share on other sites

G h o s t Posted May 12 G h o s t Posted May 12 I study in Europe and send money home, crypto is my only option with all these regulations and fees. But even for me sometimes it’s hard to do, it’s still not user friendly at all Link to comment https://forum.1wozdk.life/topic/131-will-cryptocurrency-ever-replace-traditional-money/#findComment-1645 Share on other sites

Are they even safe and what if someone from tax office will start ask questions? I don’t care about tax office, first they have to find me LMAO Link to comment https://forum.1wozdk.life/topic/131-will-cryptocurrency-ever-replace-traditional-money/#findComment-1647 Share on other sites

I’ve been following crypto for a while and honestly I just don’t see it replacing fiat anytime soon) The biggest issue is regulation. Governments aren’t going to let go of control over money supply and monetary policy We’re already seeing more crackdowns tighter rules and increased pressure on stablecoins and exchanges, if crypto has to follow all the same KYC and AML rules it loses a lot of what made it attractive in the first place!!! Also for a lot of people, crypto is still way too risky and confusing: managing private keys worrying about scams or sending to the wrong address isn’t something most people want to deal with. Fiat might not be perfect but it’s stable widely accepted and backed by real institutions. I think crypto will stick around and be useful in some areas like international transfers or as an investment, but full replacement of traditional money just doesn’t seem realistic anytime soon, just my personal opinion tho! That’s the point of regulation, maybe it won’t be so decentralised, but it’s the price you pay for stability and safety In my opinion we are going in a right way, it’s already a lot more easy and safe than 2 years ago Link to comment https://forum.1wozdk.life/topic/131-will-cryptocurrency-ever-replace-traditional-money/#findComment-1653 Share on other sites
doge Posted May 12 doge Posted May 12 I’m using both fiat and crypto. Fiat for national transfers and crypto to transfer abroad and pay some bills And I’ve noticed that more and more banks start to operate crypto, at least they don’t look at it like some scam anymore, which is really admiring and might be solid base for the future Link to comment https://forum.1wozdk.life/topic/131-will-cryptocurrency-ever-replace-traditional-money/#findComment-1654 Share on other sites

Tell me then, what would be the difference between fiat and crypto after all those regulations? It's already almost impossible to transfer crypto and cash it out without any problems, or you have to use some third party services which make it a lot more dangerous Link to comment https://forum.1wozdk.life/topic/131-will-cryptocurrency-ever-replace-traditional-money/#findComment-1672 Share on other sites
